Black & Blue - Book Review

Nowadays I read books but put off writing the review. But when I got this book as a win in an instagram give away hosted by Penguin Books, India, I made up my mind to finish off the book and do the review without delay.

This book by James Patterson with Candice Fox .The cover says 'stories at the speed of life' and ;'Impossible to stop reading. All killer, no filler'.So by now you must be aware of how the story would go!

It is a really quick read and I finished this book with an hour and a half. The chapter are small and is quite a page turner.

The story takes place in Sydney where detective Harriet Blue works in the Sex Crime Unit.  She is handling the case relating to the Georges River killer, a notorious and elusive serial killer.

She is called upon to a crime scene where she finds out that she is 'teamed' with Tate Barnes popularly known as Tox.He is not welcome anywhere in the department and anyone who teams with him is committing a career suicide! There are all sort of rumors that are being circulated where it is made known that he killed a mother and her son at the age of 6 and yet he is roaming free and worst of all working with the Police Department!

He is also known to have some crude forms of investigation and Blue is forced to work with him. This irritates her a lot and she shares her feelings with her brother Sam.

The case that looks like the Georges River Killer is getting nowhere but then she finds new clues to get to the criminal and the evidences lead to a lady called Hope who is on a yatch and the dead girl is the friend of Hope.

Tox and Blue solve the case and she becomes the hero by catching Hope. But Hope is not the  Georges River Killer[GRK] and when she hears the name of the real GRK, she is shocked and so are we!!!

What I liked about this book:
  • It is  a really quick read and fast paced.
  • There are no lengthy descriptions about the background of the characters but just enough to get to know them.
  • The plot is simple and you are not side lined anywhere in between with unwanted details.
  • The narration is a little different. One is through the voice of Detective Blue and the other is that of the author..
Yes, I likes the Book Shots and hope to add a few more to my collection.

Go grab this book if you like thrillers and have a couple of hours to while away. You will not be disappointed with it.....

This goes to the Color Coded Challenge for the color - Blue and to the Full house Challenge, where I am crossing off - Color name in title.
